Au Salon des métiers d’Emma offers courses, demonstrations, conferences, and customized handcrafted creations. We have designed our courses to allow for an intimate setting, individualized attention and created an environment built to allow creativity to flow. To accommodate such a style of learning we have limited our classes to 4 students per class.

Our prices include all materials.
All of our courses are available upon request;
given there are a min. of 4 students registered.

Stained glass for beginners (12 hrs, 195$)
Tuesday from 6:30pm to 9:30pm or Saturday from 10am to 5pm
You will learn to choose your glass, cut, foil, and solder a small 8’ x 10’ piece of your choice.
Tuesdays: September 29, and October 06, 13, 20, 2009

Flowers – drying and pressing/make your own floral cards (6 hrs, 150$)
Wednesdays from 1pm to 4pm
You will learn the techniques of flower selection and care, including how to preserve your flowers.
We will teach you the advantages and disadvantages, the materials required, step by step procedures, the possibilities and maintenance of dried flowers. You will make 2 greeting cards while learning floral
composition and assembly techniques.

Painting on glass (6 hrs, 150$)
Sunday from 1pm to 4pm
Learn the technical notions of applying the materials, with some basics in color, values, transparency - opacity and pictorial organization on a glass object.

Glass beads (9 hrs, 195$)
Thursday from 6:30pm to 9:30pm
With the use of a Bunsen burner learn how to make your own glass beads and create your very own
jewellery. You will make approximately 14 different glass beads.

Introduction to clay (not turned) (9 hrs, 195$)
Saturday from 10am to 5pm and Sunday from 1pm to 4pm
You will learn 3 basic methods of working clay and making one or several pieces of your choice.

Image transfer on glass (with Mrs. Danielle Ouimet) (7 hrs, 100$)
Learn, with images and photos that you choose, to cut, assemble, superimpose, collage, paint and varnish to make a montage on a glass plate. Makes a great gift or souvenir idea.

Studio time
You would like to take some time before you invest in tools or you want to make another stained glass project but you just don’t have enough room in your house to do it. Whether in stained glass, clay, painting or refurbishing a piece, you will enjoy the use of a spacious, well-equipped studio to work on your own projects.
On Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10am to 1pm and from 2pm to 5pm and Thursday from 6pm to 9pm. Make your reservations as quickly as possible.
